As you will have seen on our key dates letter, we are taking part in two fundraising events during December 2024: The Wakefield Hospice Reindeer Run and The Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day.
We know that times are tough, so please remember that donations are optional - it’s having lots of fun that’s mandatory! Please find below information about the two events and how you can donate if you wish to.
Reindeer Run - 12th December 2024
School Parliament are delighted to announce that our school will be taking part in the Wakefield Hospice Schools Reindeer Run 2024.
On the 12th December, children in Year 1 to Year 6 will be wearing antlers and running (with Santa!) in the playground to raise much needed funds and awareness for local hospice care. The money we raise will help families in our community who are living with a life-limiting illness. Please donate what you can, to encourage our reindeer in their quest!
There are two options for donations:
Your child will bring home a Reindeer Run Sponsor Form for you to share with family and friends; please gather sponsors and collect the donations then bring them into school (cash donations are fine for this) by Monday 16th December and we will arrange for a member of the Wakefield Hospice team to come and collect the money.
You can also donate via the school’s Wakefield Hospice fundraising page:
We are inviting all children and adults to wear their Christmas Jumpers to school on 12th December 2024.
Christmas Jumper Day is Save the Children's annual event, raising money for the children who need it most. Remember, there’s no need to buy a new jumper; you could upcycle an old jumper or get crafty.
