 Spring Term update

Dear Parents/Carers,

It’s been a really busy Spring Term! Please see our updates below…

Spotlight on

In this section, we look at more of the excellent work being created in school. Following on from last term’s focus on writing and art, we would love to show you their Geography and History. Click on this link or the images to see what we have been learning.

World Book Day

We want to express our sincere gratitude to all the pupils for making World Book Day such a resounding success! Your creativity shone through in your amazing costumes, and your enthusiasm for reading was truly inspiring. A very special thank you to all the parents and carers for your incredible effort in helping with costumes and encouraging participation. Finally, a heartfelt thanks to Mr Blake for his exceptional organisation, creating such an immersive and interactive celebration of books and reading for everyone.

Careers Day

Careers Day was a resounding success! Six fantastic parents shared their career journeys with our Y2, Y5, and Y6 pupils. Over 180 children explored a vast range of jobs, gained valuable insights, and discovered the skills needed to pursue their dreams. We're thrilled to announce plans for another exciting careers event for Y1, 3, and 4 in the summer term!

Garden Area

We're excited to share an update on our calm area garden project! 800 square meters at the back of the school have been cleared and will soon be transformed into a beautiful, tree-shaded grassy space. We'll be adding benches to create a "chilled" playtime experience for pupils who prefer a quieter setting. Even better, our School Parliament, with Mr. Nicholson's guidance, successfully secured £6000 in funding for this innovative project!

Eggcellent community support!

Driven by our School Parliament's initiative, 43 Easter eggs have been collected and will be delivered by MP Simon Lightwood to local food banks. Our students are making a real difference this Easter! We are incredibly proud of their dedication (and that of their families) to helping others in our community.

Science Fair Showcase
We're bursting with pride for our three, year-one science superstars, who represented us at the Outwood Grange Academy Science Fair Showcase! As our school winners (chosen by our School Parliament and Mental Health Ambassadors) they shone brightly against teams of much older Y5 and Y6 children. They presented their project confidently and enthusiastically, truly making our school proud. Well done!

Parents’ Evenings
We appreciate you taking the time to attend our recent Parents' Evenings. It makes a positive difference when you join us to discuss your child's learning journey. These conversations are so helpful for us to understand how we can work together to support each child and help them succeed.
If you didn’t make it, please contact your child’s class teacher via the main office to make an appointment.
